2009 Indent Partnership Grants

The purpose of the Indent Partnership Grants is to help you kick start, reinvigorate or simply keep great all-ages music events happening in your local area. You can apply to run one or more events throughout the year.

Important Info for 2009 Indent Partnership Grants:  


•    2009 Partnership Grants are fixed at $2,500. This applies to both Regional and Metropolitan regions.

•    Event organising committees must comprise of at least 5 young people aged 12-25.

•    All events are strictly drug and alcohol free.

•    Applications from event teams with outstanding event reports will not be considered. If you are unsure if your team has has all events accounted for from the previous year please contact the Indent Partnership Grants Manager - richie[at]musicnsw[dot]com/ 02 9699-9706.























Event Types:


The type of events Indent supports include gigs, youth festivals, CD launches,
Band/Dj competitions and general music events across all genres of contemporary
music(i.e. rock, pop, indie, hardcore, R&B, hip hop, electronic, country, punk, metal, dance etc).



Assessment Criteria

Successful applications should demonstrate the following:

1) Young people are the driving force behind the concept, organisation and
implementation of the event.

To demonstrate this you should:

• Submit copies of minutes from Indent Team or Youth Council meetings

• Provide contact details for at least one young person on the Indent Team (this person should contact the Indent Coordinators to discuss the proposal)

• Submit results from research (e.g. surveys and youth forums) that show the proposed event is
meeting entertainment needs of young people in the region

•Ensure all members of the Indent Team join the Indent Network (via website)

2) The event is meeting a need for more youth entertainment in the region.

To demonstrate this you should:

• Submit results from research (e.g. surveys, youth forums, community meetings)

• Submit results from evaluation of previous events

3) The event is supporting and promoting live and original music.

• The event should provide performance opportunities for established artists as well as young and emerging artists. (Funding non-professional performances such as karaoke and talent quests is not a priority)

4) The event is realistic and well-planned.

To demonstrate this ensure:

• The event description is clear and concise

• The marketing and promotions campaign is well targeted and thorough

• The budget is realistic

• Alternative funding/ in kind support has been explored (i.e. local business sponsorship, council assistance etc)

• An appropriate Risk Management Strategy is in place
