Newcastle has launched it’s first ever music video competition and doing a call out to all young video makers, bands and animation artists aged between 13-25 years. To enter, all you have to do is 2-5 minute music video which features original local music. Prizes will include cash, trophies, video production gear and recording and rehearsal packages. Entries are open from now until June 27 with an official screening and award ceremony on Friday July 27.

Unearthed High is returning thanks to our friends down at triple J, who are once again on the hunt for the countries best high school music act. So if you’re a songwriter, play in a band, MC or produce you should enter! The winner will get flown into the triple J studio where they will get their tracks professionally recorded and then get played on both triple J and triple J Unearthed! If that’s not exciting enough, the band will also play at a concert organised by triple J at their own high school, sharing the stage with Aussie hip hop giants Bliss and Eso!
