We will be opening applications for the 2014 Partnership Grants on Monday, 23 September 2013. Two grant categories are available, the Grass Roots Grant and the Event Development Grant, and both are for youth music events happening in 2014. The Indent Partnership Grants program, funded by ArtsNSW, has been specifically developed for young people to stage all-ages, drug and alcohol free live music events across NSW. The grants program also assists young event promoters and emerging artists by offering support, advice, workshops and the resources required to create sustainable and accessible culture of live music in their local areas.
We here at Indent are very pleased to announce that 18 young people from across NSW will be completing a TAFE Certificate II in Live Production, Theatre and Events through their voluntary work putting on music events in their local communities! A collaboration between Indent, Sydney TAFE, NSW Department of Education & Communities, and funded by Arts NSW, a group of young people (aged between 14 – 22) sourced from the existing Indent network, have been given the opportunity to report on their practical life and work experience to gain a national qualification. Through a process called ‘skills recognition’, Indent works with young people, collecting evidence of their experiences through working on and presenting music events and festivals. By completing a portfolio throughout the year of their work and experience, the participant is rewarded with a Certificate II in Live Production, Theatre and Events from Sydney TAFE.
The Regional Arts Fund has opened to taking applications for activities happening within the next year that will have lasting cultural, economic and social benefits for individuals and communities and will remain open until 15 August 2013.
