My School Act have announced their winning band, Perth quartet 44Th Sunset! The band have been awarded with the grand prize of up to $50,000 recording and marketing spend from Sony Music and up to $15,000 from Sony/ATV Publishing. The indie-rockers were whittled down from 500 talented hopefuls who have spent the last seven months trying to capture the attention and support of almost 40,000 registered music fans through the annual initiative’s website, myschoolact.com.

Shipwrecked 2011 festival is hitting Newcastle Foreshore on December 10!
Supported by Livesites and Indent Music NSW, this all-ages, drug and alcohol free music festival is organised by young local volunteers for local youth. The festival will be providing local talent the opportunity to play in a festival like arena and work alongside up and coming Sydney based musicians. It will also give Newcastle youth a summer music festival minus high ticket prices!
