The Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre is offering traineeships in Technical Production and Design commencing February 2012. Applications close tomorrow!
This is a fantastic oppuritunity of anyone interested in gaining practical skills and experience in this field as well as an attainment of a nationally recognised qualification.
The traineeship will offer classroom and on-the-job training over a 12 month period. Participants will complete a Certificate III in Technical Production. Course structure includes the theoretical and practical components of event production including Lighting, Audio, Projection and Staging.
Throughout the program participants can also expect to gain skills in the areas of administration, scheduling, team work, communication and leadership.
To be eligible for the traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and not have a tertiary qualification of a Certificate III level or higher.
This is a physically demanding role, and heavy lifting and working at heights may be required.
Successful applicants will be well presented and have excellent communication skills. You also require a sense of urgency in order to meet deadlines along with a strong customer focus. You will be driven to further your career in the entertainment or event industry and the ability to display previous experience or interest in the industry is a distinct advantage.
Short listed applicants will be required to participate in a pre-employment medical examination which may include testing for alcohol and drugs.
