Applications are now open for the Foundation for Young Australian’s 2011 Young Social Pioneer program, but get in quick as they close this Friday June 3.
The Foundation for Young Australians is a not for profit that stands to represent young people, through advocacy, research, funding and support. Their Social Pioneer’s fellowship brings 14 “change makers” together each year with the aim of combining like-minded individuals to learn from each other.
Essentially this is 12 months of training and professional development, for individuals who have an idea for a project that they think will enact positive social change. Recent Alumni from the program include Chris Boyd who established the Australian Youth Against Cancer, and Genevieve Clay who started Bus Stop Films, a production house working with Accessible Arts creating gateways for young people living with down syndrome into the arts. Got an idea? Passionate about a cause? Head over to Youth Action for all the information.
