Cloud Four are a four-piece melodic punk band, formed in early 2010 from Sydney’s inner-west. United for their mutual love of a Wilhelm Scream, the joined together to play quicker, heavier punk rock. With an energetic & raucous live show to back up their solid debut EP, Cloud Four are here to stay.
Who are Cloud Four?
Sammo, Dylan, Luke and Benn. Four blokes from Sydney’s inner west.
What do you guys do in your spare time?
Differs for all of us. We all follow the tigers in league. Benn’s into computer games, Luke into hockey, Dylan into working and Sammo’s quite the ladies man.
What brought you together as a band, and what inspires your music?
Other bands that we like and enjoy inspire us. We came together through a mutual love of punk, and are trying to make music that we want to hear.
What is your most memorable gig, and why?
Something Really Epic. It’s a show put on by Leichhardt council annually for youth bands. We came runner up, but it was just amazing, because we had a larger crowd than what we are used too and it’s just great fun to play to people.
How important do you think playing all ages gigs is, and what else do you think could be done?
It’s important because half of our audience is under age. If we play over 18s shows, our following is minimal.
You’ve recently released your debut EP, Over the Rainbow. How would you describe the recording process?
Not bad, very laid back. It was pretty casual, and it’s only four tracks so it didn’t get all too boring in the studio.
What inspired the cover art? How did you go about getting this done?
Dylan got back from overseas and was lying down, really tired in band practice. We said, as he’d been in Britain, that he looked like a Leprechaun. We then debated what it is a Leprechaun would throw up, and yeah…
