The Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium is inviting young musicians from the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Shires to apply for a music scholarship.
The prestigious Helfgott Scholarship was established in 1998 acknowledging and honouring the huge input of David and Gillian Helfgott to the musical life of the Coffs Coast. The scholarships aim to provide an opportunity for young musicians to pursue advanced study of a musical instrument or vocals.
There are two scholarships on offer, each valued at $3000 each.
The 2010 David Helfgott Scholarship is for young instrumentalists up to the age of 21 years, with interests in any instrument and any style of music.
The 2010 Gillian Helfgott Scholarship is available to singers aged up to 25 years, with interest in any vocal style.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate talent, potential and dedication to serious music studies.
