Gathering together the full spectrum of the music indusdtry including local and international songwriters and music industry experts; Song Summit 2010 will span all facets of the music life-cycle to deliver crucial networking, educational, business and cultural opportunities for delegates. Song Summit will consist of a three-day conference and music martket, plus Song Summit LIVE- a nightly program of live music performances. Song Summit 2010 will be held as part of Vivid Sydney.
As part of Song Summit 2010, Backstage Pass will give secondary school students an amazing opportunity to learn from , and hone their musical skills with some of Australia’s leading music artists.
Under the leadership of Creative Director, John Foreman, and the guidance of 20 mentors, 200+ students will have ten workshop options to choose from. These workshops will cover specific instruments and skill sets relevant to music production.
Backstage Pass will run all day on Sunday JUNE 20, 2010 @ Sydney Convention Centre, in Darling Harbour.
The program will be as follows:
9AM – 3PM Mentorship programs
3PM – 5PM Rehearsal and Event Set up
5:30PM – 7PM Performance
There will be ten workshop options including: bass, drums, guitar, keys, vocal, hip hop, music business knowledge, songwriting, audio engineering and event production. These will be lead by 20 musicians and industry experts as mentors under the leadership of Creative Director, John Foreman.
Cost is $20 and this covers morning tea and lunch on the day for all students/teachers/parents attending.
