The final all ages rock

The Annandale Hotel is one of the premier live music venues in Sydney, housing names like Front End Loader, The Sleepy Jackson, Wolf & Cub, The Mess Hall, The Vines, The Dandy Warhols, You Am I (just to mention a few). Over the past month Sydney’s most exciting bands at high school have taken over the venue. The tireles battles each week have resulted in the finest crop to battle it out in the final round on November 22 from midday.

The finals fighting for the all ages rock title will be Metallic Panda, Calyca Rose, Spanlged Mistress, The Struts and Beattie in the Background. The Annandale started this iniative, with support from Indent, to help young bands find their feet. Come show your support for all ages entertainment, $5 on the door. The final show for the year.

The final generationext is happening on Sunday November 22 and will feature OUR feature artist The Slippers as well as Hector Hugh and DJ Fraser Daniell. generationext is an initiative of the Museum of Contemporary Art for the under 18 but the ever more surveyors of good art and music! The event is completely free, after hours at the MCA.

Discover recent additions to the MCA collection in New Acquisitions 2009. Explore language and identity in Forbidden: Fiona Foley. All the while checking out some of the most exciting new talen (did we mention The Slippers and Hector Hugh) while helping yourself to the complimentry food and drink. Join the hundreds of other people under 18 that enjoy art and music at once!

All Ages Rock @ the ‘dale

November 8th @ Annandale Hotel, Parramatta Road, Annandale NSW

The Annandale Hotel are all for supporting the live local scene, especially up and coming bands so they’ve decided to open thier doors to the idea of an All Ages Band Competition, supported by Indent.

Starting in October the Annandale and Indent will showcase four under age bands on the main stage at the hotel, every sunday until the end of November. Bands will get thirty minute sets and be in the running for some great prizes.

This week the bands playing are

Beattie in the Background, The Bennisons, Seek the Silence + more tba

Doors 12:30, cost $5
