1. How did you come up with the name?
Miles had a dream about a sparkly woman, woke up and described her as a Spangled Mistress. Everyone dug the twang.
2. What is the all ages scene like in your neck of the woods?
Not so good, mainly because of the genre we play. Our music doesn’t consist of any break downs or whining so people don't seem to appreciate that too much around here.
3. What do you think this biggest threat/obstacle for all ages gigs is? How would you fix it?
Firstly, There's the issues of insuring the gigs because of the fact that there's going to be U18s. The threat is that venues just won't put them on. Bands are slowly being replaced by poker machines and other money making doo dangies. So this is creating a major obstacle for us and other U18s bands. We don't think theres any way of fixing it, its just a matter of being patient, waiting until your 18, going hard practicing and writing now, and then when you turn 18, you can hit the live scene hot.
4. Is it hard to get gigs? Do you have any coming up?
Gigs aren't too hard to find, it just depends on where you play. YES we do, we'll be playing in the semi- final for the "Emergenza" all ages band comp at the Metro theatre some time early in November. (It hasn't been released yet, dates get posted up on our myspace as soon as we find out.)

Spangled Mistress are shire lads that started jamming in a garage playing hendrix covers, that then inspired them to start making their own music.
