The 2009 Save the Scene Tour

Back in the ole' tour bus, or 7 seater van, Indent will be hitting the road once again to bring the music industry to the rest of NSW for the Save the Scene tour - a series of music industry specs and songwriting techs with some of the best in the business. Starting in Sydney in July and committing to a round trip that will finish in Newcaslte in October, find your feet, for your own survival in the Music Industry. SAVEtheScene_Amended2 Indent will be bringing industry representatives and professional songwriters to regional NSW to talk event management, promotion, production, songwriting, funding opportunities, community support and the general tricks to the trade so that your scene may by saved. Want to see more live gigs in your town? In a band and got no-where to play? Come to a workshop near you and learn how to get the support of the entire community and save your all ages scene. Our esteemed colleges will then be joining us for a mammoth night of workshopping in WAGGA WAGGA on the 12th at the Civic Theatre. Come from 4pm to talk music industry/event management 101 stay for the songwriting and hip hop production workshop. Following on we'll be holding an Indent pow wow in BEGA on the 14th. Indent will be there and are bringing some crafty festive people and you can also RSVP for that by emailing max@musicnsw.com *** For the first time in too long a time, Indent will be leaving on a jet plane, don't know when we'll be back again to head to BROKEN HILL on the first week of September. We'll probably be back before October cause that's when we're putting on the finale to end all finale's, the ankle in our workshop tour leg - Newcastle's Save the Scene workshop as part of Sound Summit at the TINA festival. *** The first stop on the tour will be in Sydney on the 22nd of July at the APRA offices 16 Mountain Street, Ultimo. It's a Wednesday but it's totally school holidays so come rub shoulders with Kirsty Brown from The Brag, Bree Carter from Select Music, Chris Moller from APRA, Andy Kelly (Winterman + Goldstein), and Caroline Gates (FBI Radio). Indent is also excited to be presenting a song-writing session as part of the Sydney leg of the series featuring Tim Derricourt (Dappled Cities) and Tom Parisi (Tom Ugly) with guest moderator Chris Moller (APRA), this session proves to explore the mysterious and personal secrets of the songwriter. The music industry is a strange place, closed off and hard to get to, Indent and the Save the Scene tour are bringing down the walls for all young emerging bands and event organisers to come face to face with some of the industry’s best and brightest.
