ALL THE RAGE
Yves Klein Blue (sounds like…eves cline blue, rhymes with Eves kind shoe) are one of the other amazing things to come out of Brisbane and after jet setting across the world they’re brand spanking new album is rocking the ears of TMC as you read!!
Yes that’s right we have one copy of the yet to be released album: ‘Ragged and Ecstatic’ to pass on to you. To get your hot little hands on what could potentially be the coolest album of the year then hit us an email minorchords@thebrag.com and tell use what your name sounds like/rhymes with.
If you haven’t heard of Yves Klien Blue, you might have been living under a rock and in that case you’ve probably got a sore neck/back and this album could reinvigorate you. They are ragged and ecstatic, they’re melodic and funky and their song Getting Wise has been in my head ALL WEEK. Their brit-pop inspired, hook and sling lyrics demand attention and just ooze coolness.
They are playing at the Oxford Art Factory on Saturday the 4th of July at 3:30 you can get tickets for the gig or get a combo deal and get the tickets and their album (incase you don’t win ours) for like $23! OR you can also kidnap the boys and get them to play at your house party, just join their mailing list and snap them up, check out myspace.com/yveskleinbluemusic

The Loft Update
Recently the Newcastle City Labour Councillors have release expression that they too support The Loft and that youth services should be encouraged, given the water to grow and should be apart of any kind of sustainability plan; der youth the future!
BUT the fight is not over yet, submissions of written protest have closed but The Loft is taking one last stand in protest to the Newcastle Council’s Sustainability review wanting to “Close down the youth venue and explore the feasibility of selling the asset”. The peaceful protest rally is happening at 4.45 pm in Civic Park – bring any music/noise makers and wear red to stand together to stop this sustainability review.
